The RTT213 Course at Parkland College is in need of redesign both in content and delivery. This class is delivered over a synchronous, videoconferenced system. Typically, 16 to 24 learners interact between five different classrooms. In the past, content was delivered via lecture and paper documents that did not fully utilize available resources. This course is being redesigned to employ best practices in distance education. The changes will be based on principles of andragogy and constructivism. While much research has been done in the field and many examples are available for active learning to enrich student's learning, little is available to assist with the practical implementation of active learning in this particular delivery format.
